At $362 billion per year in bilateral goods trade, Mexico is the third largest U.S. trading partner after China and Canada. Tens of millions of Mexicans presently live in the United States. Over 17 million US citizens or residents visit Mexico every year. Given these facts, Mexico law issues come up often in US-based litigation. Whether it be due to a forum non-conveniens (inconvenient forum), choice of law, choice of court, jurisdiction, causes of action, damages, enforcement or substantive law issues regarding business, real estate, probate or family law, these types of issues need to be properly addressed by offering to the courts expert opinions so that the court can understand and properly rule on these matters.
Antonio Maldonado is a practicing attorney who is licensed both in the United States and in Mexico who has served many times as an expert witness on Mexico law. He can prepare declarations with his expert opinion on Mexican law. He can also give testimony in depositions and at trial in connection with Mexican law.
If you are involved in litigation in the US in a matter in which an expert opinion on Mexican law is needed, contact Antonio today.
